hot chocolate

I don't know anything more comforting than a warm cup of hot chocolate in sub-thirty degree weather (which is way too cold in my book). After waking up too late to shop any classes, my roommate and I decided to head to LA Burdick's- one of Harvard Square's finest cafés. A couple minutes after I left, I found out my friends from Wellesley had just stopped by so I ran back to catch up with them as well. Hot chocolate, coffee, and macarons were a great start to my day and to my semester. Stay warm!

current lust

Isabel Marant Dicker boots. On the feet of off-duty models, stylists, hollywood stars, and casual street-chic women. Perfect with denim, black cigarette skinnies, summer dresses, tights, and everything else. Soon to be on mine? A girl can only wish.

the denim shirt

(late afternoon, stockholm streetstyle, vogue, chloé fall 2010, vanessa jackman, tfs)

These ladies did the trend-turned-staple right. Now officially on the search for my very own denim shirt.

I guess I should start with the story of how this blog came to be. Jinah (narcobunny) and I were having a 'night in' at our local Barnes & Nobles, reading magazines and talking about two things we both love- fashion and beauty.

Note the Starbucks cup next to her. After deciding we needed to grab some late-night grub, we headed to the Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed White Bean Hummus and Crab and Artichoke Dip. Yum yum

At around 11 PM, we migrated to the 24/7 diner for our caffeine fix- round two. We are coffee fiends.

Several refills later, amongst light-hearted conversation, we both discovered our desire to utilize our passions for fashion and beauty for 'socially good'. Why are fashion and beauty not seen as culture and art, but instead as a superficial, commercially-driven evil? We want to prove that they can be used for good, and we wanted to make it happen ourselves. Thus, at around 2 AM in a dingy off-highway diner in suburban New Jersey, the meré came to be, and along with it, our two personal blogs- the jane face and narcobunny.

Join us behind the scenes of the meré- our effort at proving two college students' mere efforts, when supported by the fashion and beauty community, can create a brighter future.

Let the games begin
